Anatomical Model of the
Laboratory Rat
MD is developing a three-dimensional anatomical model of the rat, to be used as a
teaching aid for (bio-)medical schools, universities, and so on.
The model will be 4 times life size (approximately 150 centimeters high), enabling great detail to be
shown.
In the model, one will be able to remove several organs to study other
structures in more detail. The modeling of several organs is now started.
Some pictures of this 3D-technique are shown below.
The development is done in cooperation with the
Dutch Government, Universities and the industry. The production of the
model and all parts will be done by "Museumtechnische Werken" in
Groningen, the Netherlands.
